Voter Information:
In California, the deadline to register to vote for any election is 15 days prior to Election Day. The 2020 Election will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2020. If you are eligible to vote, please ensure you are registered early. The registration deadline is October 19Th 2020.
Are you registered to vote?
- Your voters registration is permanent unless you move or change your name.
- Registration is also available at other state government offices, including public assistance offices, and military recruitment offices.
Address Changes?
If you have moved within the County, you must transfer your registration by re-registering. You must re-register with the local election authority or county clerk if you move to an address outside of the County. You can check you voter’s registration status by clicking on the link here.
Name changes?
Voters who legally change their name, but not their address, do not have to re-register. If you have changed your name, you can vote after updating your information at the polls.
Vote by Mail:
The Safe, Accessible and Preferred Voting Option in 2020 is Vote By Mail which is similar to Absentee voting,
Beginning with the November 3, 2020 General Election all registered voters will be mailed a Vote by Mail ballot to ensure a safe and accessible voting option during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mailing of Vote by Mail ballots in all elections begins 29 days prior to Election Day.
How to Return your Ballot
There are multiple options on how to return your ballot. By mail, remember no postage is necessary, in person at any Vote by Mail drop box location or at any Voting Center in L.A. County.
If your ballot is postmarked by Election Day and received within 17 days by our Department we will process, verify and count that ballot.
